Family mirrorless cameras with a full-frame sensor from Nikon are growing. Following the Nikon Z7 and Z6, Nikon is now announcing the Z5 which will fill in the entry class segments or beginners with the least inexpensive selling price.
According to Nikon, Z5 has many features similarities with Z6 which are a more expensive selling price around US $600. In fact, its design and dimensions are also at a glance similar. Both dimensions and weights are equal to about 675 grams.
Although the design looks the same there remains a difference between Nikon Z5 and Z6. Sold at a cheaper price Nikon Z5 comes with a polycarbonate body material, not a magnesium-alloy like Z6. Although the body material is different the design of Nikon Z5 also remains dustproof and moist.
Then, at the top of the body, the Nikon Z5 also has no LCD screen to display the camera settings. Instead, Nikon Z5 carries a rotary Dial to select a shooting mode.
For the sensor, Nikon Z5 comes with a 24 megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor. Meanwhile, Nikon Z6 carries a BSI-CMOS sensor. Nevertheless, Nikon Z5 remains supported by the same Nikon Expeed 6 processor and has a stabilizer feature in the body.
This stability feature can dampen vibration up to about 5 stops. With the specification, Nikon Z5 can record video up to 4K/30p resolution with a crop of about 1.7 x. Nikon Z5 video Recording is also supported with the availability of headphone and mic ports.
For other features, Nikon Z5 carries an OLED electronic viewfinder, a 3.2-inch touchscreen, a dual SD memory card slot that supports UHS-II and its charging battery supports USB Power Delivery for charging via a USB port.
Nikon Z5 will be available in August 2020 with a selling price of US $1399 for the body only. US $1699 Package with 24-50mm F4-6.3 lens and US $2199 with 24-200 F4-6.3 VR lens.
