Either coincidence or not, the letter "R" seems to have its own superior impression in the camera industry. Just look at the Sony a7R series, which for four generations has always been a superior variant than the ordinary A7. In other strongholds, Canon even named its first full-frame mirrorless camera The EOS R – which has been recently forwarded by the EOS R5 and R6.

If you need more evidence about my coincidence theory, let's look at Leica's latest offers. Through a livestream, the German-based camera of introduces the latest member of one of its most popular mirrorless camera series, Leica M10. The newest member name? Leica M10-R, and incidentally he was the most superior among the other Leica M10.
Its main advantage lies in the sensors used: the 40.89 megapixels full-frame, up about 16 megapixels compared to the original M10's sensor. Technically speaking, the sensor is actually the same as that embedded in the M10 Monochrom, only here Leica has added a Bayer filter so that the M10-R catches can be colored.
Leica believes that this significant increase in resolution is not only ideally paired with the new M lenses, but is also able to accentuate the unique characteristics of the old M lens collection. For long exposure photography enthusiasts, they will smile knowing the M10-R has a maximum exposure duration of 16 minutes.
But the increased resolution has not yet recounted the excess as a whole, as the new sensor also promises a wider dynamic range and minimal noise even if the ISO range does not change (100 – 50000). So for shooting in low-light conditions, Leica is sure that the M10-R catches will be very close to the quality produced M10 Monochrom.
From a simple perspective, we may consider this M10-R as a colorless M10 Monochrom. But in fact he also inherited many of the advantages of Leica M10-P, specifically the mechanical shutter sound that is very subtle and barely audible in public places, and the LCD that has been equipped with touch panels. The design and the gutted (processor, battery) were exactly the same, and that was different just the sensor.
The plan, Leica M10-R will be marketed globally from July 20 for $8,295 (body only), the same as exactly when the first M10 Monochrom was launched last January. Consumers can choose between black or silver.
