OnePlus has announced their latest flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 8 with its Pro-variant. The latest chipset Diotaki Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 also supports 5G connectivity and WiFi 6.
From the design, the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro displays look identical. The face packs Fluid AMOLED with a 10-bit panel and HDR + support. There is no pop up camera, replaced by a punch hole located in the top left corner for the 16MP front camera. The good news, the change makes the OnePlus 8 Pro body waterproof with IP68 certification.
The second difference lies in the OnePlus 8 panel having a 90Hz refresh rate and 6.55 inches in size with a resolution of 1080 × 2400 pixels. Meanwhile, the Pro variant carries a 120Hz panel and a 240Hz touch sampling rate that is more ideal for gaming activities. It has a size of 6.78 inches of 1440 × 3168 pixels.
Operating system running is Android 10 with OxygenOS user Interface version 10.0. For security systems rely on fingerprint under display. The kitchen is a Snapdragon 865 pacer made at 7nm + eight cores. Includes 1x 2.84 GHz Kryo 585, 3x 2.42 GHz Kryo 585, and 4x 1.8 GHz Kryo 585, as well as the GPU Adreno 650.
Both have two variants, 8GB RAM with storage UFS 3.0 128GB and 12GB RAM with storage UFS 3.0 256GB. For the record, the type of RAM on OnePlus 8 is LPDDR4X and OnePlus 8 Pro LPDDR5. The battery, OnePlus 8 has a capacity of 4,300 mAh and 8 Pro 4,510 mAh with 30W fast charging technology capable of charging 50 percent in 22 minutes or 23 minutes for the Pro version.
In the camera sector, OnePlus 8 carries a triple camera setup. The main camera uses a 48MP IMX586-resolution Sony sensor (0.8 μm, f/1.8) and a 1/2.0-inch sensor. A 16MP f/2.2 Secondary camera with a 13mm ultra wide lens that provides a 116-degree field of view, and another 2MP F/2.4 with a macro lens.
OnePlus 8 Pro's Setup camera is more powerful with four cameras. The main camera uses a 48MP f/1.8 IMX689-Resolution SONY sensor sensor and has a larger 1/1.4-inch sensor size, each of its pixels being 1.12 μm.
Then, the camera with a 13mm ultra wide lens is also a resolution of 48MP F/2.2 which provides 120 degree pandan field and doubles as a macro lens at a distance of 3cm. Furthermore, 8MP F/2.4 with telephoto lens that delivers 3x optical zoom capability. One more, 5MP f/2.4 as the depth sensor.
Video recording supports up to 4K at 30/60 fps and 1080p at 30/60/240 fps. Complete with the Single Shot 3-HDR feature, and have a mix of optical and electronic based image stabilization. Meanwhile, the 16MP front camera only supports 1080p 30 FPS video recording.
Regarding prices and availability, both will be available from April 24th in the US. The OnePlus 8 variant of the 8GB RAM is US $700 and US $800 for 12GB of RAM in Interstellar Glow and Glacial Green colors. The OnePlus 8 Pro is priced at US $899 for 8GB of RAM and US $999 for 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, and is available in Ultramarine Blue, Glacial Green, and Onyx Black colors.
