FeiyuTech, just launched a small 4K camera gimbal named Feiyu Pocket which is present to rival the DJI Osmo Pocket. In terms of design, Feiyu Pocket has a design-like Osmo Pocket, but with a larger screen.
Reported from DP Review (3/4), the screen size given Feiyu Pocket is 1.3 inches, while the screen size of Osmo Pocket is 1 inch. In addition to the difference in screen size, the two dreadlocks cameras basically have identical shapes and sizes, complete with a 360-degree rotating camera as well as two buttons for controlling the camera.
In terms of technical specifications, Feiyu Pocket is equipped with an ultra-wide 120-degree lens and an aperture of f/2.8. This latest gimbal camera is informed to have a 1/2.5 inch CMOS image sensor. For information, DJI Osmo Pocket is equipped with a 80-degree lens as well as a 2/3 inch sensor size.
The maximum video recording resolution on Feiyu Pocket is 4K at a speed of 60 fps, just like the Osmo Pocket. But it seems that Feiyu Pocket has a lower shooting resolution at 8.5 MP, compared with the Osmo Pocket capable of delivering a resolution of 12 MP.
The image stabilization capability provided by Feiyu Pocket is three-way, just like the Osmo Pocket. However, Feiyu Pocket had a six-way ' hybrid image stabilization ' option that seemed to incorporate optical and digital stabilization.
Feiyu Pocket battery life is claimed to be up to 3.5 hours when recording 4K video at 30 fps and up to 4.5 hours when recording Full HD video at 60 fps. The battery can be recharged via the USB-C port with a fast-charging 10W, promising the battery to fully charge within 80 minutes. The storage system can be done via a microSD port up to 512 GB.
Feiyu Pocket offers several shooting modes, including 360-degree POV mode, motion timelapse, automatic panoramas, beauty, and sync motion that detects hand. The device can be controlled via a dedicated app for Android or iOS to offer a variety of camera settings. The price for this gimbal camera is USD249.
