GoPro Hero 8 Black Manual - GoPro has a new cam action. Not just one, but two at once, the GoPro Hero 8 Black and GoPro Max. Max herself was the successor of Fusion, the 360-degree camera that GoPro released two years ago.
Hero 8 Black design is almost unchanged when compared to Hero 7 Black, but the privileges of Hero 8 Black is the ease to be mounted to various accessories without having to be paired into the case first. This is because it is equipped with an integrated hook hidden in its bottom plate.
Hero 8 Black is still waterproof to a depth of 10 meters without wrapped anything. Also slightly different is the position of the microphone, which is now facing forward to capture better audio quality, complete with the help of a new algorithm that more effectively throws wind roar.
In terms of performance, we will still find the same numbers as its predecessors: video recording in maximum resolution of 4K 60 fps, slow-motion 1080 240 fps, and 12-megapixel photo capture. Refined is its internal stabilization system, which GoPro calls the term HyperSmooth.
HyperSmooth 2.0, thus the name of the new stabilization system of Hero 8 Black. GoPro claims its performance compensates for increased shocks quite dramatically when compared to the first generation of HyperSmooth. However most special, HyperSmooth 2.0 can be applied to any resolution and frame rate.
The quality of the photos is also called a rapid increase, especially those taken using HDR mode. Photo shooting in RAW format now applies to all modes, including time-lapse or burst modes. Also exciting is the feature of Digital Lenses for both video and photos, which basically frees the user into selecting the desired focal length (Narrow, Linear, Wide, and the widest SuperView).
But Hero 8 Black still keeps a completely new feature, which is Mod. The Mod differs from the typical GoPro standard accessory. The first three mods of GoPro release for the Hero 8 Black For example, are designed to juggle those cam actions into the primary weapon of the vlogger.
The first mod, Media Mod ($80), is a shotgun type mic that stuck to the right side of Hero 8 Black. It packs a pair of cold shoe to connect additional accessories, not to be missed as well as USB-C port, HDMI and 3.5 mm adapter for external mic.
The second mod, the Display Mod ($80), is a 1.9-inch folding screen that can be faced forwards or backward. To be able to use this Mod, the user is also required to have Media Mod, because he made use of the cold shoe of the Mod.
Lastly, there is a Light Mod ($50) that can help improve the lighting conditions at the vlogging location. This external Flash is waterproof to a depth of 10 meters, and it is equipped with a diffuser so that the highlight is not too excessive. In addition to stand-alone, Light Mod can also be paired to the Mod Media or to the GoPro standard mount.
