Zenmuse XT2 Manual - The development of drones for the commercial sector often escapes the public's attention. In fact, the existence is even longer than drones for consumers in general. Regardless, the realm is still interesting enough to illustrate the potential of drones more comprehensively.

Take a sample of DJI's latest product, Zenmuse XT2. It is a thermal camera for drones. Not just any drone, but that is indeed dedicated to professional circles such as Matrice 200 and Matrice 600 Pro. In working on XT2, DJI worked directly with FLIR, which has been very experienced in the field of thermal imaging.

Technically, XT2 is promising. DJI has equipped with a 1/1.7-inch-sized CMOS sensor capable of taking 12-megapixel photos or recording 4K videos. Next to it, the thermal module of FLIR can choose a heat signature in a resolution 640 x 512 or 336 x 256 pixels, with a choice of 9 mm, 13 mm, 19 mm or 25 mm lenses.

But what's more interesting is the two smart features that have DJI planted: QuickTrack and HeatTrack. Both essentially allow the user to focus on controlling the drone while the camera is operating automatically, focusing its view to the center of the preset area (QuickTrack), or to the hottest temperature area (HeatTrack).

When an object is detected reaching a temperature above a critical boundary, the camera and the drone will also immediately send the notification to the user. This combination of drones and Zenmuse XT2 is ideal in the hands of the rescue team, but it is also handy for infrastructure inspections and agriculture.
