The Fujifilm X100 series is a very unique camera due to its position amid a mirrorless camera and a pocket camera. The image quality is equivalent, but not as flexible as a mirrorless because the lens cannot be removed. The size is relatively compact, but still not a condensed camera Sony RX100.
Nevertheless, this formula proved to be successful in carrying the name Fujifilm back fragrant in the digital camera industry. Already three generations of X100 they created, and this year 2017 they are ready to introduce the fourth generation, Fujifilm X100F.
As a conjecture, X100F still maintains the retro design of its third predecessor, just as it's one of the central selling values of the X100 series. Hybrid viewfinders are also still present, but users can now set their EVF's magnification level when in Electronic Rangefinder mode.
But the update that I personally most liked is the more complete aspect of the control. Mainly thanks to the presence of a small joystick on the back panel that can be used to adjust the focal points much more comfortable than using the four direction buttons.
Moving forward, there is an extra command dial that can be customized. The shutter speed knob can now also be utilized to quickly adjust the ISO level, while the exposure compensation knob at the far right now packs a "C" indicator allowing the exposure setting to +/-5 stops with the help of the command dial.
X100F also promises improved image quality thanks to the use of a 24.3 megapixel APS-C X-Trans III sensor and X-Processor Pro chip, both of which are borrowed from the Fuji X-Pro2 and X-T2. Problem lens, X100F still carries a 23mm F/2.0 lens with highly proven optical quality.
Improvements continue to the aspect of performance, where X100F claimed firmer focus on locking, startup time and shutter release. The number of focus points that can be selected rises from 49 to 91 dots. It could be the alphabetic "F" that Fuji chose is referring to the word "fast."
