Canon EOS M100 Manual - The Canon EOS M100 is a compact mirrorless camera aimed at beginner photography enthusiasts. The design of the M100 is no different from the M10, but there are some essential enhancements to the image quality that have been upgraded from 18MP to 24MP sensors. Processor quality is also faster, i.e., from DIGIC 6 to DIGIC 7. As a result, the image quality of these cameras will be the same as Canon's higher-priced mirrorless cameras and DSLRs such as the Canon EOS M5 or M6.
Another significant improvement is that the autofocus system has been using a dual-pixel system, so the autofocus performance is fast, and it can follow a subject that moves well enough for photos and videos. The system is also used on the Canon M5 and M6. For users of the Canon EOS M1, 2, 3 and M10 will feel a considerable speed increase.
Shooting with Canon M100 is very simple for those who are experienced or not at all, as most of the control of camera is through the touch LCD screen. For those who have never studied photography, automatic mode will be constructive. For the experienced, manual mode, aperture priority, shutter priority, and program are available. To focus, users can touch the screen in the area you want to focus on. The Touch LCD screen can also be folded upward for photos from a low angle, but this LCD cannot be bent downward to shoot from a high angle.
Although this camera is aimed at beginners, some features are usually only encountered in Canon DSLR cameras that are also still present in this camera, spot metering, and WB Kelvin.
Limiting this camera to professional use is the absence of a hot shoe for attaching flash or external mic, and there is no option to install an electronic viewfinder.
I had the opportunity to carry a Canon M100 gray camera and a Canon EF-S 22mm F/2 lens on an Indian trip and I tried in a variety of conditions both light and dark shapes. The quality is excellent in bright terms, and the color of the photo saturation is quite high. Since the lens aperture is large enough, the combination of this camera and lens is capable of creating a blurred background, giving it a three-dimensional effect.
The downside of this camera is the shutter sound when shooting hard enough, and there is little lag compared to more sophisticated cameras. For photos of moving subjects, I had to anticipate them by pressing faster or shooting consecutively with continuous shooting. Also, camera materials are mostly plastic. The choice of lenses is also quite limited, especially a fixed lens, though this mirrorless camera can use a Canon DSLR lens using an adaptor.
