When Canon released their first full-frame mirrorless camera on September 2018, Canon confirmed that the new EOS R was the only one. Now that Canon has announced the EOS RP, Canon's second full-frame mirrorless camera comes in the entry-level category and is more affordable.
The Canon EOS RP carries a 26.2-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor, a slightly decreased resolution of the 30.3-megapixel EOS R. Powered by the same Digic 8 image processor, with a constant speed of 5 fps (EOS R 8 fps), and an ISO range of 100-40,000 ( Can be expanded to 50-102.400).
Its autofocus system uses Dual Pixel AF technology. There is a total of 4,779 focus points to choose from, which includes 88% vertical spans and 100% horizontal spans of the frame (the EOS R has a 5,655 focal point).
Video recording problem, the EOS RP is capable of recording 4K video 24 fps at a bitrate of 120 Mbps, with 8-bit color depth for internal and external recording. As a comparator, the EOS R can record 4K video at 30fps at 480 Mbps with a color depth of up to 10-bit for external recorders. One more, unlike the EOS R, the EOS RP does not offer Canon Log.
