Panasonic announced the Lumix DC-G90 camera which is a mirrorless camera. Reported from PetaPixel (5/4), this camera is claimed to have a healthy body because it is wrapped in a mixture of magnesium material and a tightly sealed button mechanism that is resistant to dust and splashes of water.
The Four Thirds-based camera is equipped with a 20.3 MP resolution sensor with ISO sensitivity from 200 to 25600 promising good quality in dim light conditions. Continuous shooting is informed to have speeds of up to 9 fps for single AF and 6 fps for constant AF.
In terms of stabilization, G90 features a 5-way Dual IS system feature combined by optical stabilization (2-way) and stabilization in the body (5-way). The autofocus system is done with Contrast AF, which uses Depth From Defocus (DFD) technology. Its own autofocus capabilities are reportedly able to deliver speeds of up to 0.07 seconds. The autofocus functions include Face/Eye Detection AF, Pinpoint AF, One-shot AF, and Low Light AF.
On the back of the camera is a 3-inch touch LCD screen with a resolution of 1.24 million dots. The panels are equipped with flexible hinges to enhance creativity when shooting. You can also shoot photos through an OLED-based electronic viewfinder with a resolution of 2.3 million dots.
In terms of video, G90 offers 4K-resolution (3840 x 2160 pixels) recording with a frame rate of 30p or 24p in MP4 format. Other features provided by G90 include pop-up flashlights, 4K Photo, Sequence Composition, Post Focus, Focus Stacking, Light Composition, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi.
