Leica has just released the V-Lux 5 camera which is the successor to the V-Lux Type 114, this premium prosumer camera is the twin of Panasonic LUMIX FZ1000 II.
Panasonic LUMIX FZ1000 II and V-Lux 5 come with the same design and specifications. In fact, V-Lux 5 still features a lens with 16X optical zoom capability that is equivalent to a 25-400mm lens, making it very versatile and ideal for photographing portraits, candid to the landscape. The difference is that V-Lux 5 carries Leica branding and the legendary Leica red dot logo.
Leica V-Lux 5 There is a 1-inch CMOS sensor with a resolution of 20 MP. The lens it had was a focal length of 24-400mm (equivalent to the 35mm camera format) with an aperture of f/2.8 – F/4.
The Electronic viewfinder (EVF) that is immersed in V-Lux 5 has a 2.36 MP OLED panel technology. As such, the EVF promises a natural color-level look thanks to its OLED panels and high sharpness due to its high resolution. But it is not yet known the refresh rate in the EVF panel, but it is likely 60 fps.
Of course, you can do a composition via the 3-inch LCD screen on the back of the V-Lux 5. Leica provides the LCD screen of the prosumer camera with a resolution of 1.24 MP. By comparison, the V-Lux Type 114 has a decision of the 920,000 pixels LCD panel. Thus, the successor has a higher resolution. No altitude also touch screen technology as well as flexible hinges.
